Well hello there. How ya doin’?
Me? Well, I’ve been a little busy lately. Actually, a lot busy lately. I have been working long, tough, coffee-fueled days and nights on a brand new look, feel, and design of the site. I hope you’ve been enjoying my writing, my stories, and my adventures. And if you’re new here, I hope you will enjoy my writing. That is not going to stop, I promise you that.
It has been a reverie of mine to become a writer (in some sort of way) for a long time coming. This blog has provided me with an extraordinary opportunity to do just that, and be able to share my stories and adventures. And if you haven’t already figured it out, I also am a gigantic outdoor nut, a fanatic fan, a wondrous enthusiast of all things outdoors. To be able to combine these two passions of mine is truly a dream come true.
I am utterly thrilled to tell you that I am expanding on my blog, to also be a hub of information for all of your outdoors needs and desires. I want to offer more to you, my readers and fans. I want to offer a place that is comfortable and well-organized to make things easier for you to find what you came searching for, whether it be stories specifically about kayaking, or how you can find a local hike in your area, or to visit the Outpost to pick up The Outdoor Soul hoodie to keep you warm during your next bonfire at the campsite.
I can’t give away too much information here at this time. It’s a secret for now, but not for long. Keep an eye out for a pretty big change to the website this coming Sunday, November 26, 2017.
This is a big thing for me, and I would like to celebrate with all of you as well. I have partnered with Sweet Dreams Outdoors, an outdoor gear company based out of British Columbia, Canada, that has been very generous to offer some free gear to be given away as gifts to you for being such a respected and loyal follower of The Outdoor Soul. I will be holding a sweepstakes beginning now and going through the end of this year; December 31, 2017 at 11:59 pm est. You can click here to enter the sweepstakes and get updates and stories in your email from The Outdoor Soul and Sweet Dreams Outdoors.
Once the sweepstakes ends, I will write each entrant’s name on a small piece of paper, throw them all in an enormous hat, then pick the winners randomly (well, something like that). We will then reach out to the winners on how to claim the prize.
All of this hard work, late nights, early mornings, emails and phone calls have been all worth it. I hope you enjoy the new site. As usual, I am always open to feedback, suggestions, ideas, and of course I am always eager to hear your stories about your outdoor escapades. I look forward to connecting and hearing from you. When the new site is up and running, I’m hoping to head out for a nice long hike and maybe get lost for a short while.
I’m going to leave you now with this quote:
Keep close to Nature’s heart…and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.
– John Muir
Take your soul outdoors. It’ll thank you!
